For this role YOU will ideally be based within a 30 minute commute of Farnborough although training and initial first 6 to 8 weeks will be based in Basingstoke with a travel allowance paid depending on your location.

Permanent Salary after 16 weeks - £29,508 pa

Rapier Employment working in conjunction with our prestigious client DHL, are currently seeking HGV 2 and 7.5 TONNE DRIVERS for their Harveys Furniture and Bensons for Beds contract in Farnborough and the surrounding area.
You will be working in a two person team, where your duties will involve delivering furnishings and other associated products to customers in their homes and assembling products on arrival. This will involve heavy lifting, sometimes to upper floors and often without the aid of lifts.
As this role is a customer facing position, you will have excellent communication skills, and previous experience in a home delivery role delivering heavy items would make you the ideal candidate for this role.
You will be initially be working Monday to Friday during your start up period with a usual start time around 0600hrs until finish. This will be dependent on route and numbers of drops. Once you become permanent with the client you will work an 5 days from 7.
As this role is primarily a driving role, you will need a minimum level of experience, and be expected to pass a theory and driving based assessment prior to starting work. You will receive training in safe manual handling due to the nature and weight of the products that are being delivered.
This role has a guaranteed paid week of 48 hours each week, although it is expected that you will work in excess of this each week. All positions are temp to perm, whereby you will work as an agency employee for 16 weeks before transferring to the company direct. Please also note, the initial assessment and first 6 to 8 weeks of the contract, you will be based in Basingstoke, although depending on your travelling distance, a travel allowance will be paid.

IDEALLY YOU WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
HGV 2 or 7.5 Tonne licence
Digital Tachograph and CPC qualification
Three months experience in a similar role
Subject to assessment
No more than 6 points
Held licence for 12 months minimum with 3 months commercial driving experience
